Dr. Spruill is board certified in psychiatry. Areas of special interest include psychopharmacology of treatment-resistant depression, anxiety and panic disorders, psychiatric complications of medical illness, chronic pain management, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, alternative therapies, and attention-deficit disorders. In addition to psychopharmacology, he provides short- to intermediate-term, solution-focused psychotherapy. He received his M.D. from Louisiana State University in New Orleans, LA. He completed his psychiatric residency at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, NC. He is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the North Carolina Medical Society.
